macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
Users can ask and answer questions regarding Foscam IP Cameras
Moderators:mycam, FOSCAM
The camera is easy to setup using the Foscam app. The setup for this camera is pretty much the same as the Foscam R2 aka 1920tvl. Interesting Features in the Foscam App. The Foscam app seems to work. Sure, it's filled with grammatical mistakes, but they will fix those over time. Welcome to the Foscam EU website! All HD cameras before version 2.x.1.10. All MJPEG cameras (FI89xx) Plugin Mac Sierra.
macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
Installed the Public Beta of macOS Sierra, and found that the web access to the camera (myfoscam.org) no longer works - you get 'Plugin not found' or not installed, even though the plug-in is there. Tried reinstalling the plugin - no go. It fails on both Safari and Chrome browsers. So, no access to the camera on my laptop.
Apparently the plug-in Foscam is using for web access no longer works under the new up-coming OS.
Hope Foscam can update the plug-in so it works when Sierra is released this Fall, or hopefully sooner.

Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
I thought Mac is not supported, since the stickied post at the top of the forum explaining how to use VM Windows for access Web interface with Mac or linux.

Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
Just upgraded to MacOS Sierra on all 3 macs and now all I get after I enter my password (Safari) is the spinner. Get the same message that plugins not installed even though they are installed. Other people in my office having the same issue with their foscams. Tried removing the plugin and reinstalling. Tried setting the permissions in the plugin section of Safari preferences. No go.

Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
Same problem here. After updating my Apple MacBook to macOS Sierra the other day I discovered that I can no longer access my camera using a web browser. Before that update I could use Safari with the Foscam plugin to manage the camera with no problem. Now I get to the login screen, but after entering the user/password I simply get the spinning thing.
I have tried Chrome and Firefox as well, with no luck. In the past, one or both of those browsers would at least let me log in to modify the settings (without seeing video) and update the firmware, but that doesn't work anymore either.
My camera is a 9826W. I do not have any Windows computers available that permit installation of a browser plugin (due to security policies).
I have lots of other computers and mobile devices around, and I have wasted hours downloading and installing various software. Unfortunately, almost everything is a simple camera viewer/recorder.
I need something that lets me change the network IP address, port settings, preset locations, indoor/outdoor video options, etc.
Is there any Android, iOS, Linux or Mac software available that will provide full access to all camera settings that are normally controlled in the web interface?
Is it really possible that all Foscam IP cameras now only work with Windows?

Download Foscam Plugin
Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
I wouldn't count on anyone responding to this. Even before Foscam US became Amcrest the NPAPI plugin support in Chrome was terminated (which the Foscam plugin is built on) and Foscam did nothing despite months and months of warning. Currently the only browser you can get this working on is Firefox and only on Windows, and I wouldn't expect that to last much longer either. I would suppose that the same situation is happening here, that support for NPAPI (or whatever API they're using) has been terminated in Safari with Sierra and now there is no supportable solution for Foscam on Mac.Foscam Plugin Mac Os Sierra 10.12
Amcrest claims to be the more righteous and better productwe have launched our own new brand of IP cameras called Amcrest, which has superior quality products and full telephone technical support 7 days per week. We hope you can support us in our new venture.
however I would highly doubt you'll see them updating any plugin support any time soon.
Foscam/Amcrest may be cheap, but they're very quickly losing my support with their shoddy support and poorly programmed UI.

Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
Yeah, I had assumed there wasn't any way to use my MacBook, and I would be OK with that if there was another option.
Are there any Linux, Android, or iOS options that will let me configure network settings and everything else in the 9826W?
By the way, I also sent an email to support@foscam.us about this and did not receive a reply yet.
If you, and others, are giving up on Foscam and Amcrest isn't really any better, what cameras are you changing to? I hate the idea of throwing out (recycling) my cameras, but if I can't reconfigure them any more I don't have much choice.

Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
I read what was written and wrote: tech@foscam.com :
Dear Joseph Toubes,
Thank you for your request.
Please install the attached plugin into your Mac Sierra, then allow it to run,
after that you can login the camera as usual. Thank you.
Any problem, please feel free to contact me!

it is a plugin package 3.3. I installed it while Safari was open.
I still had the blue writing that said to install the plug in, but I ignored it. It opened up like a charm.
I figured that Sierra would be universal and in China, definitely . so the problem existed there.
I suggest writing tech@foscam.com for the plug in.
If there were a way that I could upload it here, I Would

Foscam Plugin For Ie
Re: macOS Sierra and Web Camera Access Fails
I've found the solution. Look at the following site.
http://www.foscam.my/forum/foscam-plugi ... rsion/?p=1
For me it is resolved. Above the login screen remains alone that the plug-in should be updated but that you should just ignore it.
Best regards
Hans
